Absolutely perfect
My girlfriend and I went on a skiing holiday at this hotel over New Years 2023/2024. We had read the reviews here, which are really good - but still we were more positively surprised than we had expected.
The location of the hotel is perfect for a skiing holiday. Right next to one of the gondolas up the mountain.
The food was absolutely amazing, and even more amazing on New Year's Eve.
The spa was super good and modern.
We had a room with older furniture, but still a super good and functional room.
Although it was December/January, the room was not at all cold.
The only minus of the entire stay was that the shower temperature changed constantly during the bath. But it was to live with. :-)
The staff were super helpful and nice.
Thank you for a great stay.
If we come back to Austria, it will be at this hotel again. :-)

Could have been great.
Positives:
The Hotel Niederreiter offers excellent value for money, especially when booking through Secret Escape. A spacious room, a modern spa area that leaves nothing to be desired and a varied breakfast selection convinced us. The ideal location right next to the lift is also a dream for skiers.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, our stay was marred by an unpleasant incident. Despite being notified in good time of our arrival at around 9 p.m., we were not offered an option for dinner when we called at 2:15 p.m. The unfriendliness began here and continued at reception. No alternative to dinner was suggested, which forced us to look for a restaurant in the village. After we expressed our disappointment with this service, we were suggested that we should have asked more explicitly for a solution, for example for cold platters. Unfortunately, we see this more as the hotel's job. The receptionist seemed unusually unfriendly and distant compared to Austrian standards. In this situation, we would have liked a friendlier and more professional approach.
In summary, the lady's unfriendly behavior had a negative impact on our rating, as it unnecessarily bothered us during our vacation. Despite the attractiveness of Maria Alm as a travel destination (a real highlight for us), we will look for other accommodation in the future.

Unser Abendessen im Rahmen der Halbpension servieren wir von 18 - 20 Uhr. Für Gäste die später anreisen, bereiten wir natürlich gerne noch etwas kaltes vor. Allerdings wird das nicht automatisch für jedes Zimmer vorbereitet, sondern nur auf Anfrage. Das hängt vor allem damit zusammen, das wir nur ungern Lebensmittel wegschmeißen, die dann nicht gegessen werden und wir ja leider nicht wissen, ob Gäste bei einer späten Anreise noch essen möchten oder das bereits unterwegs getan haben.
Leider haben Sie sich nicht bei uns erkundigt, ob es auch nach 20 Uhr noch ein Abendessen geben würde.
Wir hätten uns gewünscht, dass Sie Ihre Anliegen vielleicht vor Ort, direkt bei uns angebracht hätten. So wäre am einfachsten eine Lösung zu finden.
Stattdessen haben wir leider nur einen sehr unhöflichen Anruf von Ihrer Frau aus Deutschland bekommen, während Sie oben in Ihrem Zimmer waren.
Die persönliche und direkte Kommunikation (im gleichen Haus) wäre da vielleicht doch effizienter gewesen.

Overnight stay as part of multi day hike in region
Stayed one night here as part of a multi day hiking trip in the region. We had a clean and modern room with a fabulous view! Hotel managed baggage transfers required for our inward journey. We opted in for both on site breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet was average but satisfying. Dinner was also a buffet which lends itself to some food types but not all and as we arrived late due to a long days hike, food was not as fresh as it might have been earlier in the evening. However we were appreciative of the ease to eat and stay in the same place after a long day. Staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was well located for arrival by foot and departure the next day by foot. Sauna and spa facilities were lovely.

Picture Perfect
My husband and I stayed here on the second leg of our holiday. The hotel is lovely. Spotlessly clean, well placed and everything you would want an Alpine village hotel to look like. The rooms were a really good size with a lovely balcony view of the mountains. The bathroom was big with everything you could need. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection to set you up for a day in the mountains. The staff were very polite and happy to help you whenever they could. Upon arrival we were given a free pass that enabled us to use the cable car and bus free of charge which was a real bonus. I would definitely recommend this beautiful hotel and hope to return one day in the Winter season.
