Really enjoyed my time at Selina hostel ! This is my second time to come back there as they are so friendly , clean , clients oriented and very welcoming team ! I highly recommend it ! And already coming back next Monday again .

No spaces to work as was advertised. Room was very dirty and infested with cockroaches. Staff did nothing about the cleaning after I complained.

Nice hostel but I had my belongings stolen inside the locker locked inside the room!

The structure of the hostel is good and the co-working space as well. The breakfast was worth it and the location is good for those who want to enjoy Lapa at night.
During the night, someone broke into my locker and stole my computer. Another person also had his belongings stolen during the same night in the room. The hostel was relatively polite in helping me, but they did not offer any financial compensation for the stolen belongings. The exit was to process the establishment.

A unique place in a unique neighborhood

Definitely the Selina is a unique place, for its architecture, location, services offered in a unique neighborhood, the Lapa neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. This means that if you want to have a hotel experience, you can bet you will! I stayed in the collective room and had no problems, the shower and the bathroom are great and even came with shampoo, soap and cream. Breakfast is not hotel but is satisfying, feeds well. Don’t expect a buffet as in other hotels, that doesn’t happen! Do not expect to have a life of resident Rio De Janeiro there. This is hindered by the conditions of the neighborhood, there are no supermarkets, bakeries, convenience shops and not even Shopping nearby. So if you go cooking, you have to buy everything in another neighborhood. The differential that draws attention is the rooftop bar and the day use tours. It is good that the management can maintain the facilities that are very good but we can already notice deterioration. There is a clear preference for attention (attention and dedication) by outside personnel (foreigners) but it is completely understandable. In general I felt very comfortable at the Hostel and it is possible to interact with people there (guests and visitors to the rooftop bar). That is a great option for singles and those who travel alone.
