We have been a Gold Member of the IHG Group for over 10 years
We have been a Gold Member of the IHG Group for over 10 years and are therefore in an active business relationship with this company. We were completely satisfied at all times, until today. Today, to our great disappointment, we experienced the following:
On the same day of booking we just wanted to remove breakfast from the booking and we were told that we would have to pay the entire room again. The employee Sabine was extremely snappy and treated us as loyal regular customers completely inappropriate and condescending. The first conversation was ended by re-enabling the hold: "practically just hung up!". As a loyal long-term customer, we would have liked more goodwill with such a small thing. We will consider our business relationship with this company and reorient ourselves if necessary.

The hotel urgently needs basic cleaning. Both the public area and the bathroom were dirty. On the surface it looked clean, but in all corners lay the dirt, if you can't get to the corners during fleeting vacuuming...

Stayed here for two weeks, very basic hotel.
Cleaning was done very poorly, floors were not even cleaned.
Staff was friendly, breakfast was good.
The hotel is not more than average 3 star hotel.

not recommended, technical deficiencies and the suitcase will only be kept for a limited time on departure
I can't recommend this hotel overall. I had booked 7 nights.
- Safe was broken and although I reported it several times, it took me 3 days to finally be able to use the safe without problems.
- Shower gel was not replenished from midweek.
- TV turns off automatically after 10 minutes and you have to constantly decide whether you want to connect via HDMI, smartphone or otherwise. Normal TV watching is not possible for longer than 10 minutes.
- Air conditioning is very noisy and you have to turn it off at night so you can sleep. the first week of September 2024 was very hot in HH with 30 degrees daily and even in the late evening it was still 25 degrees. So the hotel room was very hot.
- the ventilation in the bathroom is even louder than the air conditioning
- but negative peak was on the day of departure morning, when I was told that they kept my suitcase until 3 pm at most, BUT NOT LONGER. they did not have enough space for luggage and there would be tour groups. my plane left only at 8 pm, so 3 pm would have been much too early to pick up the luggage and already drive to the airport. I wanted to make full use of my last day to do something in the Hanseatic city and had plans accordingly. I was travelling alone and would have had only one suitcase to store, ideally until 5pm. But this was not possible. this uncooperative, non-existent willingness to service has annoyed me so much, the room prices are not super cheap.
I then took the suitcase with me and laboriously found a locker at the main station (it was Cyclassics weekend and the city was accordingly full), which cost me extra money and especially time.
I travel a lot, Hamburg is one of my favorite cities, but I will definitely not book the niu Keg anymore.

Neither customer nor dog friendly, very disappointing
Whether it's the Booking Referral with Expedia or the insecure staff, put aside... But even checking in for a family of 4 was difficult: First the Booking Referral was not found, then the information on the form was incorrect, last but not least the price to be paid was higher than when Booking Referral. This may be justified with a dog or parking fee. It could not be conclusively explained to us in any case. We still do not know why one breakfast costs 18€ and the other 14€. Mind you, it was booked correctly with 4 people and 4x breakfast and told that we Trips with 'big' dog. (- 1*)
Rooms are clean, small and practical. But it was incredibly hot at night despite air conditioning. The window can be opened, but the street in front is so noisy that sleeping was unthinkable. Our consensus: Air conditioning does not work optimally. (-1*)

A solution was not offered by the hotel. We could then eat very uncomfortable on our own idea in the lobby. Makes little sense, as thus dog closer to the buffet. Customer Service would be desirable here!!! 1. should have given this information already at check-in and 2. we would have expected for this high breakfast price more courteous or at least an adequate alternative. But nobody cared about the staff and THAT is very disappointing. (-2*)
