Lovely traditional Tuscany B&B

We were met by the new owner who does not have the same check in restrictions as the previous owners. He was welcoming and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We were lucky enough to have the room with the private bathroom and a roof terrace. Room and bathroom were spotless. I would suggest that the details on the property are up dated. The details show a dinning room for breakfast when the breakfast is prepared in a basket in your room. However it was plenty and we loved eating our breakfast on our roof terrace. Would definitely go back.

Great location, but “air conditioning” really just means ceiling fan.

My friend and I planned a very last minute trip to Italy/Greece flying standby, so we could not book our accommodation till after we landed. We booked this hotel on the promise of a decent price, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. We got 2 out of 3. It seems I am not the only reviewer to point out that air conditioning and ceiling fans are not the same. On this specific point, we were definitely misguided and very disappointed. It was 102 degrees Fahrenheit (39 Celsius) during our stay, and it was incredibly hot and humid. Fortunately we were there for only one uncomfortable night. The two owners were genuinely nice, and did everything in their power to make us feel welcome. They had great city suggestions and looking at the map, we really were pretty centrally located. In the end though, you get what you pay for. It’s an old building, so I expected the downsides of an uncomfortable mattress and even a bathroom that was across the hall. On that alone, I’d say it was decent and would recommend it to a budget traveler. However tricking jet lagged, exhausted and overheated tourists into booking with the promise of real air conditioning, is awful. In hindsight, we should’ve asked for our money back. They told us they were a new operation, and I understand the minor issues that need ironing out at the beginning of an establishment. I’ve given them credit for what they did right, but lying about an amenity that could make or break a travelers accommodation choice, is bad business.

the property wants us to pay directly to their account

Me and my husband planned to spent weekend in Florence, and we’ve chosen this mini-hotel because of good reviews on booking.com, but month before our vacation I got this message from the guesthouse: “As we have experienced many fake reservations:
In order To reserve your room we need you to make a bank transfer of 55 Euros as a secure deposit into our bank account.
If we won't receive the above amount as deposit to reserve your room within Friday the 10th of August we will proceed to cancel your reservation.”.
I should say, that this message has been send 8th of August evening, and I guess I should run to the bank, send money and pay commission, just because they want to get 55 Euro, NOT through the booking.com.
I was surprised, it looked like a fraud or something, so I decided to call them.
And I was talking with the owner, who was nervous, sometimes almost shout at me, told me, that he lost so much money, and if we don’t want to pay, he is ok, he’ll find someone else.
So, of course it was obvious, that he just didn’t want us to come.
Anyway I was shocked, it was the first time for me to get in this kind of situation, and I’m traveling a lot actually!!
I still don’t understand, if you’re scared with the fake reservation, why you - as owners - use “cancelation free” policy ?!
Nowhere and nobody ever asked me to send money on their bank account, especially, if I booked a room for just three days on booking.com.

Horrible experience

I’ve booked this place this trip to Florence was a present to my partner. We arrived 15 minutes late to check in and once we got there the door was closed in very small prints the contact number was at the door. So the person who answered said he could only be back after 10pm. So we had to wait over 2 hours with all the luggage. When this old gentleman arrived he wanted to charges us £80 for late check in when we said that was abusive he started shouting at us. He was very rude and saying things like if we don’t speak Italian we should not come to Italy. It was the most worst experience I’ve ever had. Such a low class and uneducated person should not be responsible for a hotel. He was extremely racist and I felt he was homophobic as well. I extremely recommend you never booking this place because you will have you trip to Florence which is an amazing place ruined. Luckily we found another hotel at the same night and got our full refund from lastminute.com which managed the issue very well. Regarding to the hotel it was dirty and very noise the few hours we stayed there.

Carinissimo

Grazie Raimondo!
