The shower booth in the bathroom is small, but two shower heads are conveniently placed. The water pressure is high. Shower water has flowed into the bathroom, but there is nowhere to drain.

Started poorly, but manager Mohammed Aisharif turned it around with care and a beautiful suite upgrade.

Updated Hotel Review: Fairmont Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Rooms 532 & 533)
Revised Hotel Review: Fairmont Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Rooms 532 & 533)
Initially, our stay at the Fairmont Makkah was disappointing due to several issues. However, I must now revise my review thanks to the exceptional efforts of Mohammed Aisharif, the manager, who stepped in and truly turned things around for us.
Pros:
• Proximity to Al-Haram: The hotel is in a prime location, very close to gates 89 and 90 of Al-Haram, which makes it incredibly convenient for access, especially during busy Salah times.
• Prayer Room: The prayer room on S2 is a great feature, allowing us to pray with a congregation when Al-Haram was full.
• M2 Lobby: The lobby on Level M2 is beautiful and modern, setting a good first impression.
Cons (Initially):
We did experience several problems during our stay, including cleanliness issues in our rooms, lack of housekeeping attention, and a chaotic breakfast service. These concerns left us frustrated, especially as we expected higher standards from such a prestigious hotel.
What Changed:
After raising our concerns, Mohammed Aisharif personally took action to address the situation. He ensured our room was properly cleaned, provided us with the services we were missing, and even upgraded us to a stunning suite as a gesture of goodwill. The suite was absolutely beautiful, though we only had a few hours to enjoy it due to our early check-out. I truly appreciated Mohammed’s efforts and his commitment to ensuring we ended our stay on a positive note.
While I wish these issues had been resolved earlier in the trip, Mohammed’s quick and effective response made a significant difference. He went above and beyond to rectify the situation, and because of his exceptional service, I am updating my feedback to reflect the improvements.
Final Thoughts:
Although our stay began with challenges, I now feel confident in recommending the Fairmont Makkah, knowing that the management takes guest concerns seriously and works hard to resolve them. I hope to stay at the hotel again, and I look forward to another experience, hopefully with the same beautiful suite. Thank you again to Mohammed Aisharif for making the effort to turn our stay around.

1500SAR Room the partial view of Haram Sharif

The Haram view was amazing, although most of rooms have a partial view and also a crane can obstruct the view further. The staff was friendly and room was comfy. Internet was much slower than my own 5G internet.

Maximized comfort for hajj

I came for hajj in 2025 and needed to be close to the haram with my physical needs. By far the best experience I’ve had with my stay in Makkah and anywhere else. I’ve traveled to the Maldives and the likes. They’re right up there with them. The staff are all exceptional and friendly. Riyaz Hussain and his team at the Lezzet restaurant are efficient yet courteous. They run like clockwork yet offer a personalized experience to make you feel as if you’re the most important customer. It’s a hard job because of so many people they have to feed. The staff in housekeeping are equally as exceptional. They go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and there’s never a frown on their faces.
