The property and the staff itself are absolutely great, the neighborhood surroundings are not desirable tho. Buildings in disrepair, no upkeep on making the town "pretty". Not a good hotel for a weekend away, but definately perfect for an overnight stay for an event or just traveling through.

Disappointed

I'm a loyal (or was) Hilton fan until I stayed at this hotel. Initially I booked the wrong date for my reservation. When I called the hotel the staffer who answered my call was very nice and made the correction. I expected an email confirmation and when it didn't arrive in 24 hours I called and requested it be resent. Which it was.
Our check in was very perfunctory and not very welcoming. The room was adequate. The key box on the back door was not working which was a minor inconvenience. I expected an email invoice after we checked out and did not receive one. At $335 a night this hotel, in my opinion, is overpriced for a non-race weekend in Martinsville.

Front desk check in was super nice.the hotel smell was very must and super warm inside, too warm. Got in the room, seemed clean, but still had the musty odors, likely from no bathroom vent system. but No mattress encasement on the bed, just a regular mattress cover. The top cover was really warn out ,snaggs and should be discarded, unfortunately when your not comfortable with the bed situation and its smells off, its hard to get comfortable. The room did seem clean. We had to ask for kore towels. We paid for 2 nights and left after 1.
