Very nice property with a couple insignificant problems.
The first thing I noticed about this place is two Gideon’s bibles in the drawers, but no book of Mormon. This brand is owned my members of the LDS Church, and it’s typical to find both the Gideons Bible and the book of Mormon both.
Next, I went into the bathroom, and I’ve not seen quite such a forest of mold in the shower. If I could find anything to scrub with, I’d have already taken care of it. The shower head refused to flow, so I took off the shower head only to find the pipe completely clogged with gravel.
The size of this one-king-bed room is big enough to play tennis. Space is extra generous, having a sitting area with lounge chairs, a table fit for serving food w/two stools, and the expected work desk and drawers. The television pulls out on a sliding stand making multi-media access easy. This room does not have a safe in it for valuables, which has become a selling point for me. I don’t want to use the one behind the desk, because of waiting. Other national brands have begun to include these, and I’d suggest every room everywhere really needs one since the property will not be responsible for anything that goes missing.
The extra outlet on the floor lamp is amusing in that it’s completely useless but it’s there. The one on the table lamp is definitely useful, even though the architect has already thought about that and put a wall outlet above the work desk.
The lighting in this room is generous, and all of them working. The one over the coffee table in the sitting area is so dim it’s only usable for a night light, but it’s there. There are lots of other lights in here in places one would not expect, which is very nice. I’d only suggest that switches with pilot lights in them are VERY welcome to a guest checking in after dark.
They offered an LG brand big screen TV with lots of channels. Souvenir soaps seem to be over in favor of liquid soaps. And there were no postcards in the drawer, which is another thing from a day gone by much missed. There is a charging dock by the bed with all kinds of connectors, and a couple of accessory outlets, as well as wireless charging.
The wireless internet hooked up without hassle, and worked plenty fast. Much to my surprise this building has a wired LAN, and it also works. I believe in the benefits of real wire, and this is a rare thing to find, and I appreciate it. The wired LAN is reporting 224 Mb down and 237 Mb up. Where these wired LANs remain in lodging properties, most of them do not offer live ports.
The staff here has been kind, courteous, and professional, and the bar tender an extremely welcoming guy. They told me they have a restaurant under the roof, but I haven’t yet found it. The room has a microwave, and a tiny refrigerator, but that’s it for food prep.
This exclusive Pepsi thing in the building does not work! But especially when trying to substitute that for Coca-Cola in their mixed drinks. YUCK! I won’t accept it, and nobody should. If a recipe calls for Coke, that does not mean just any caramel cola!
In the area are many major retailers within walking distance. Along with that is lots of dining choices, and home improvement centers. The traffic in the area is predictably frantic.
I would stay with these people again, and I do recommend it. The criticisms are minor, and are not intended to discourage any guest from patronizing this property.
