Awesome location, very cool old hotel. Always stay here for business - close to plenty of bars, restaurants.

Booked 2 rooms 2 nights for a family of four. Kinda disappointing with the service quality provided by the hotel esplanade. Totally unimpressed at all. Take a midnight flight and reached Perth at 5-6am. Drive to esplanade hotel ard 9-10am. Though understand that we have arrived very much early but thought that the hotel can assist in at least provide one of the rooms to freshen up. Waited 5hrs until 1350hrs before 1 room can be provided reluctantly. However I do saw reception give early access to many others who came later. Wonder if it it because I am an Asian and race card is being played to perfection to adhere to the standard timing.
The swimming pool and gym were not maintained at all. And worse is the ant issues. I have left an empty orange juice glass on the table and I came back, it was filled with 50-60ants. Guess the pests control was not well managed here.
Think the only saving grace is the proximity to Fremantle market, town area, and the terminal to go Rottness island. May need to rethink and strategize to continue to become one of the better hotels in Fremantle and not solely just replying on past reputation.

Over the past twenty years we reckon we have stayed at the Espy about 15 times. We are not going to bother again.The Hotel is tired and rough around the edges. The bars are good and the food is okay but the corridors leading to our room were dirty and really off putting. Thankfully our room was clean but outdated. All a bit sad. We loved staying there in the past but looks like we will be looking further afield for our next visit.

I found the Fremantle Esplanade Hotel very dated. Fremantle is always great for food & drinks etc. The staff were amazing & helpful.

The hotel was lovely but!!!,, on check out the bill for breakfast was not what we were expecting!
We were told the breakfast was $29 when checking in and again going in to breakfast, we stayed. For 5 days twice in 6 weeks , was told special guest rates, but on 2nd check out was then found out that it was per person making the breakfast $58 per day! Very sad , a rip off ! Yes it was a lovely breakfast but at that price it should be!
