Lovely simple hotel

Found beside the old main route towards Eastern Bhutan on the very edge of town this small hotel in a traditional Bhutanese style provides a great experience of warm hospitality and high quality home cooking that will remain long in the memory. From the warm welcome and mint tea to the genuine farewell we were made to feel a part of the family of four who operate this lodge. The room (twin) was cosy, light and simple with comfortable beds, wooden floors and an efficient electric radiator. The ensuite bathroom featured underfloor heating, hot shower and simple toiletries. The dining room was spacious enough for all guests to eat at once (ask to see the photos of the monks' lunch!) and is heated by a wood stove. The food served to your table (not buffet) is absolutely delicious and plentiful. Recommended.

Bumthang gem

what a little gem of a guest house in Bumthang
The host was exceptional and made our visit to Bumthang unforgettable
The units is quite rustic and basic but the family produced excellent local cuisine and were extremely welcoming.
do also try the local restuarants for lunch - they are v good

Great stay!

Beautiful facility and very nice proprietor. The bed is super comfortable and the room was chilly, but had a heater in it. The common areas are spectacularly decorated. The food was simply prepared, but delicious and very plentiful. They did our laundry complementary, which was a real plus though we did not have much much. We walked to town and it was about 1.7 miles Pleasant. People were super friendly.
We love staying here. There was no shampoo, but I always carry some.

Excellent relaxing stay

Wonderful experience
Food and service were awesome!
Room and bathroom had heaters and the quilt was warm and cosy
Expensive crockery was most unusual. It's these little touches that make village lodge a stand out !
