Quiet and comfy

Guesthouse Stary Jasen is a great place for stay in Zagreb if you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle in the city. It's in a residential area just 10 minutes away from the airport and provided parking is a plus. Host is friendly and helpful. Our stay there was seamless.

This was a quiet, clean, safe place to stay. The room was comfortable. I needed ti catch an early flight from the airport and it was everything I needed.

Basic accommodation but super friendly and helpful staff

Proprietor was not at the property when I arrived at sunset… property was dark. There was a note on the front door to call him. I tried to call but couldn’t get through; fortunately there was another guest there who was able to reach him. He was at a soccer match with his kids but he left the key in the door. Why couldn’t he have sent me an email ahead of time to explain?
The room was shabby… lower than Motel 6 standard. Table lamps did not work, there was mold in the shower. Mattress was very, very soft (my bad for not inquiring ahead of time). Owner eventually came by to collect payment and I had him replace the bulbs.
The owner seemed like a nice person but I can’t recommend this property… would rather have spent a little more money for a more pleasant experience.
