This is your getaway

Just getting around to penning our review of-- yes 9/17 stay.Too busy 'til now, but would not rest until it was written. This erudite and welcoming host has remodeled a lovely residence in the Aveyron in immaculate fashion. We extended our stay an extra night because we loved it. Delicious breakfast, home prepared preserves, intelligent conversation at the breakfast table, and a rural setting that left us well rested for the road ahead.

A dream come true

I was there with my whole family (eight of us) and I must say it was the highlight of our vacation. Monique the proprietor was a remarkable woman. Her attention to our needs during our stay were unmatched. The breakfasts were outstanding and all the rooms were extremely comfortable and spacious.
We will be traveling back to France within the next year or two and will definitely plan to stay with our new friend Monique at Les Brunes.

Peace, comfort and quiet in an elegant seeting

Mme Philipponnat-David inherited this maison de maitre and used local craftsmen to convert it into a stylish and comfortable chambre d'hote. There are some delightfully restrained touches in the decor which we warmed to. Our room was effectively a suite with very comfortable twin beds in a room overlooking the countryside and a bathroom with a high tech bath and a walk in shower. The separate loo was of a Japonese design which I can only describe as a new experience.
Breakfast was taken in the kitchen dining room with the other guests presided over by mme who provided us with a range of homemade jams and local breads and cheeses. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay though we must mention that we charged extra because we were only staying one night. We thought however that this was not unreasonable.

A gem in Aveyron

Off the beaten track, Les Brunes is a beautiful, restored gem. Ultra quiet, modern and comfortable and well located for places to visit in Aveyron. Hostess Monique is warm and welcoming and she prepares a wonderful breakfast for guests around the large table in her kitchen.

Another little gem

Found this place with the help of TA. What a wonderful find. Monique made us very welcome on our arrival with homemade wine and nibbles. The rooms were wonderful with extremely high quality fittings. Breakfasts were somewhat early(8.30) but if you wants to make the most of the morning it's also very useful. The selection for breakfast was amazing, homemade or local produce.
The only drawback is there is no lounge to relax in the evening with friends and evenings outside can be quite cool.
The local village Bozouls is definitely worth a visit.
