Fabulous quirky comfortable.

We spent on night here in July and it was an my find. We drove up into the mountains and discovered this unique and quirky hotel. The rooms were comfortable and the shower was excellent. The interior design is fabulous and the spiral staircase is wonderful. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable price. Beautiful spot, well worth the extra drive up into the hills..

Furious.

To avoid at all costs very aggressive owner the hotel very filthy the cupboard under the sink stuck with dirt I spoke to her about it the same day she wanted me to leave the room immediately because I was telling the truth she didn't want the customers to hear to hide the truth we slept with a bat hanging above our bed the toilet does not flush impossible to put the clothes in the closet they come out black with dust the parking lot in a very very dangerous bend to get out and not closed this hotel should be closed non-compliant if you don't want to get sick and escape straight away

Good for a one-night stand

The hotel is charmful, the rooms have been refurbished recently, so it seems. The service is smily. But rooms are noisy in a way that you are fastly sharing your room with either the Tv of your neigbour or the talks of your other neighbors. I was in a room where the wifi didn't work at all. Breakfast is so-so. 10€ is too expensive for what you get, at least we could have real bread, and not industrial. But it's probably the rule when you stay in a very touristic place ...

Low cost but tiptop

We found this hotel to be exceptional value. For just about the same price as a BB chain hotel, we had a lovely one night stay at this quaint little hotel in St Nectaire. The hosts are very welcoming and courteous and the breakfast was a vast array of pretty much anything you could want in a continental breakfast.
I was a bit worried by other earlier reviews but can honestly say these were not my experiences of this hotel.
The only minus point for me was a slight drainy smell in the bathroom but it was warm enough for windows to be kept open in that room so did not bother us. Our bathroom was actually in the "pointy" part of the hotel picture. The bed was comfy, plenty of pillows provided (which is a rarity in French hotels!) and lovely bathrobes also provided in the rooms, presumably in case you wanted to use the pool (which we did not).
Car parking was over the road and very secure with two security gates and high fencing. Although on the main road, the night was quiet and no disturbances.
For the cost, I think this represented good value and the place (and the small "spa" town) had a faded charm to it.

The Guest is always wrong!

This looks like a nice hotel but don’t even think of going there if you want to be treated with normal consideration – let alone the exaggerated claims for customer care made in their literature. The owners are obviously very stressed as they try to do everything themselves, having apparently had trouble finding co-operative staff (I wonder why?). The result is that the slightest demur from guests results in aa avalanche of panic from Madame or a lecture from Monsieur and the clear attitude that the guest is always wrong.
A very strong drains smell filled the bedroom all night, even with the bathroom door closed.
It took me one month to book one night’s stay, requested by email prior to my departure, due to confirmation condition of providing a card no by phone. The hotel’s landline was out of order and when I phoned (from a Telecabine) the alternative mobile no provided I received firstly voicemail and secondly Madame saying she was out of the hotel, couldn’t possibly note down the card no & would I phone later. I took the alternative course of sending a cheque & requesting email or text confirmation of receipt, as they had been exercised about the upcoming ‘jour ferie’, but heard nothing for a fortnight until I texted a request for a reply by return.
On arrival c.2.15 p.m. I was greeted by a torrent of words from Madame: “You’re too early, you’re too early, the room’s not ready yet, etc, etc” It took some time for her to listen long enough to hear me saying it didn’t matter.
When on the morning of my departure I found the plants I had left in the hotel’s secure, locked carpark, in a very concealed position by my front bumper, had disappeared I was told “Our guests are not thieves ... what do you expect us to do about it? ... If we phoned the police they’d just laugh .. with all the other things I have to do...!!” Not one word of regret or commiseration.
