Hidden Gem / perfect stay

It was really hard to find a hotel on Alishan because there aren’t many and a lot of them are small B&Bs with little to no information online, especially in English. There’s the option to stay in Fenchihu town but the hotel there looked dingy to me. Plus I wanted to experience staying on the mountain at a local tea farm.
I booked this place on Expedia but you can also book directly with the hotel, though this requires prepayment with more limited refundable options.
Prior to arrival, the hotel messaged me in the early evening asking if I had a driver. I’m guessing this is because it’s dark and they were worried about us making our way there on our own. I replied to them on Line app instead of via Expedia. They also asked if we needed dinner at their hotel. This is super nice since there aren’t any restaurants nearby. The staff wrote in Chinese, not sure if they know English.
Upon checkin we were upgraded to rooms with a view that were each individual cabins (not sharing a wall). The rooms were huge with a balcony. The sink was separate from the toilet and shower. There was shower gel and shampoo only and non-disposable slippers. I remember when I booked there was a huge alert message that single use toiletries are not provided. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room and especially the bedding smelled so good. The bed just envelopes you and you don’t want to get back up again. The decor in the room was also super cute. Everything was so clean. There is a water filter machine in each room so you have an endless supply for water. The air up on the mountain is so cool and crisp and you can hear the sounds of nature. The view from our balcony was of the tea fields and mountain. It was so beautiful! Breakfast was quite good- hot soy milk and the congee were especially good.
This hotel is definitely one of my favorite hotels among all the places I’ve stayed at. I hope that more people discover this hidden gem on Alishan mountain. If you don’t have a driver like we did, make sure to contact the hotel and request transport.

There are lots of steps to climb, even get to the main office to check in. I had to take my case and bags with me to walk along all stairs ( no elevator), this would be hard for seniors and people with disabilities. Plus, it is hard to find the place, we missed the way, then backed to find the tiny road to turn in…

Cozy Stay with Great Views, But Not Ideal Without a Car

This B&B-style hotel is clean with a lovely view and a peaceful location. They only serve hotpot for dinner, and breakfast is very limited.
The main issue is transportation—if you don’t have a car, you’ll be stuck, as it’s quite isolated. Alishan Forest is about a 40-minute drive away, so I’d recommend staying closer to that area if that’s your main destination.

The room is big, but cleanliness need to be improved, stain and mold found in the bathroom. Location is not really good, still need to drive about 40 minutes to reach Alishan.
Less variety of breakfast.

The property is inside a small village. It is equipped better than most of hotels that I had experienced, such as heated toilet seat. There is 30-40 minute walking distance from bus stop, the owner drives a Mercedes to pickup guests. Room is very clean, bed is large and comfortable. Breakfast is free. Dinner is Japanese style hot pot only.
