Amazing hotel
Beautifully decorated and furnished, clean and quiet. Staff were so helpful and friendly, they couldn’t do enough to help and advise us. Room was comfortable, bed very comfortable and plenty of complimentary toiletries. Lift available. Good selection of hot and cold drinks available in the bar. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel so can’t comment on that. Plenty of cafes and restaurants within a short walk.

South Amsterdam feels like home because of my many trips there doing research on Etty Hillesum. I just stumbled upon ApolloFirst Boutique hotel and it was the perfect place! The style of the hotel, the neighborhood, the amazing Theater, wonderful breakfasts, and most of all the people I met there, the hotel owners and management Weiss and Rick, Brigitta,an actress, people in the neighborhood and my Dutch Etty friends who came to meet me there. I will be back! Barbara

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Bed very comfortable, but walls were thin so could hear other guests. Had breakfast on my last day. And by chance asked if they had gluten free bread. Two heated rolls were brought. Delicious. Also had gf muesli. Excellent breakfast.
The hotel is in a nice area with trams nearby. Vondelpark is within walking distance.

A gem of a hotel!
This hotel is a gem located in a beautiful area of Amsterdam. We could walk to many restaurants and to both the Van Gogh and Rijk Museums. A beautiful, large city park is just a few blocks away with nice walkways. Our room was beautiful and spotless, and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel has a small elevator to get your bags upstairs. The staircase from the lobby is circular and very narrow, so this is a big plus. The breakfast buffet was excellent with eggs, sausages, breads, pastries, yogurt, granola, fruit, cold cuts and cheeses, and an excellent coffee machine. A small, but sumptuous, bar is tucked between the lobby and the breakfast area. But it was Maxim, the assistant hotel manager, who really made our stay special. He gave us tour advice, made us dinner reservations, gave us maps and umbrellas, and made our drinks in the bar -all with a smile on his face. His warm welcome each time we returned made us feel appreciated and glad of our choice to stay here. I highly recommend this hotel!

I overall had a pretty good stay at Apollofirst Hotel, where I stayed in a single person room. The staff was super friendly and the location is wonderful. The interior of the hotel is very oldfashioned, it's definitely a vibe. I rented a bike a the hotel for 18 euros a day, which could maybe have been a bit cheaper, but the bike worked fine and was comfy as well.
There were a few downsides: The bed was unfortunately quite uncomfortable. I found the room to be a little too dark (the window was quite small) and the water in the shower randomly changed temperature sometimes (managed to burn my head quite a bit because of a sudden change to burned hot water).
Apart from this, everything was fine.
