Great experience

"Stayed here for a business trip and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and professional, and the room was perfect for work with a comfortable desk and reliable Wi-Fi. The highlight was the spa – a much-needed relaxation after a busy day.

A very bad hotel. Not possible to close bathroom door, not possible to darken the room during night. This hotel is not worth the price!!

I was disappointed. As a former resident of Kongsvinger I happen to know that this used to be the very best Hotel in the town. It can now only be described as 'tired'. The staff were courteous, but not especially customer oriented. Room was comfortable, but not what I expected of a higher end hotel. The sauna was good, but the pool was very cold. Breakfast on day 1 was interesting as the yoghurt placed on the buffet had gone off. Not the very best advertisement for Kongsvinger.

Wings Hotel needs to be renovated before I come back!

After over 40 years in the media industry, I have stayed in numerous hotels. I have also previously stayed at Vinger Hotel but over 30 years ago.
Already when we get into the elevator we get the feeling of being far back in time. The elevator is perceived as very old.
This is confirmed when we entered our room (204). Here it could not have been cleaned up at all.
I bought my first apartment in Oslo in 1984 and room 204 on Vinger looked very much like my apartment before I cleaned up. Open pipes in the bathroom etc.
That Vinger Hotel in 2024 even believes that the hotel is good is incomprehensible.
In my opinion, Vinger is, without a doubt, the worst I have ever stayed at!
Conclusion: Close the hotel and renovate!
I'm not coming back.

Find something else, even a tent. Totally unworthy of the price charged. The room is tiny/claustrophobic. I have stayed in B&B with larger rooms and better condition. The toilet is next to the bed, with a cover that is impossible to cover without a loud bang and a door that does not close, it just barely shields the view. When I complained upon arrival, I was told "all rooms are the same and the place is being slowly re-modelled". They should close the place until the remodeling is done. The breakfast was OK, but not enough to save this review. If anyone from EXPEDIA visited the place, they would have taken off the list. SHAME EXPEDIA, you can do better!
