Gloppen Hotel gave us an experience far above what we expected...
On the way through, we booked a historic room and not least a dinner with a fixed menu in the restaurant. The room was old and historic, a really nice experience. Here I think we will stay several times, then maybe also to fish salmon in the nearby environment. After all, this is a hotel for salmon fishermen.
The food we were served was fantastic. Anyone who reads my previous reviews will see that I place high demands on both raw materials and how the food is prepared and served. It was a fantastic evening, but many good unique tastes, yes simply a food experience one will be looking for a long time. The prices for food and wine were far beyond what one could expect. I look forward to the next visit to Gloppen Hotel. Thank you for us. KG

Nice hotel with a lot of history in the walls.
Booked a historic room, which was very nice.
We walked around the area before we thought we would have dinner, we asked in the reception if we could eat and they sent us into the restaurant. The waiter had to double check but they could open another living room so we could get to sit there. We weren't so hungry so there was a 2 dish on both. There was a little wait for food and wine, but not enough to draw down the total.
All in all a very pleasant experience, exciting to read the history of the hotel around, on the walls and in books around. Very friendly staff as well, they smiled from when we arrived until we left.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

24 hours to repeat!!!
I mean: What a place!!! We wanted to have ourselves a break in a busy day, and had booked us a night at the Gloppen hotel, in a historic room. We had also ordered ourselves a four-course dinner with wine package for the evening. What a wonderful day it was!! When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a friendly service. The room we got was just beautiful!! Each room had its own name and had its own unique fish flute framed on the outside of the room. The room itself was beautiful with antique furniture and antique wallpaper. It was really nice!!
When we came down to our 4retters dinner, we were greeted by a nice waitress, who informed us of what we had to choose from of food. There were two appetizers, two main dishes and a dessert. We dropped one of the snacks, and took two main dishes and a dessert. It was really a taste experience!! The wines the hotel recommended for each dish, matched incredibly well to the dishes! In addition to the four dishes, we were served an extra flavor bomb in the form of a corn bread with teryakis mushrooms and mayonnaise. Between the first and second main dishes we were also served a lovely local tea. Our waitress was incredibly nice and knowledgeable!
The overall experience was just absolutely fantastic! This really demands to be repeated!
The breakfast the next day was simple but good. The selection was not large - yet there was nothing we missed. For breakfast, the staff came and served cocoa with whipped cream. It fell very in taste on a cold November day with fresh snow outside.
This is really a place to go back to!!

Draumen vår er jo at med ein gang du går ut av døra så vil du berre snu og vere eit døgn ekstra. Denne skal vi bruke som indremedisin og drive sjølvsnakk, også framsnakke konseptet vi driv etter. It really is worth 5 /5 in score but I had to point out that in our room 204 there was something wrong in the bathroom. It has a very unsound smell probably dt the sewer. I noticed them when we left so it is likely ok again now.
We were several people gathered for a funeral and as far as I heard everybody else were very happy with their rooms.
For dinner we had a tasting platter with some duck breast as part of it and I really wish we had more of the duck. That is a meal I eat often and this one may have been the best I have ever tasted anywhere in the world.

Good but do you want sleep not live in the old wing
Very nice hotel with good beds and a very good breakfast.
Unfortunately, it pulls down a lot when you end up in the old wing that is not soundproof at all. So you hear and say everything that happens over, under, by and outside your room. This went pretty strongly beyond the night sleep, especially when there was someone who had a gathering at the hotel and went out the party to the long night hours....
