Over rated and expensive . Find somewhere else room 202

The hotel did not present well . It’s expensive so I would expect a lift , there isn’t one . There is a building site happening in the front of the hotel . I was given the furthest room on the top floor …no view what’s so ever ( even though lots of empty rooms face the sea ) with lots of lovely steps. The room key worked once but then didn’t so my old legs had to go back down again . Wifi code not given on check in , ok I’m a big boy , I called and got it over phone . However 5 minutes in it logged out and ….. yes , you need a new code !! Why do hotels have such a system ?
Then I wanted a beer , so I went to restaurant but told I had to sit outside as restaurant only opens at 6pm !!! It was empty and nicely air conditioned but outside I go outside !! Yes, I should have walked but few options so I stuck it out .. eventually me sweating profusely abd constant requests to sit inside worked and they let me in .
I go to restaurant . The place is a building site with saws and hammers going but I wanted a beer . 4 pm and it’s hot , hot , hot !! I go inside to be told that the place is closed abd I need to sit out side … I did , I needed a beer … I kept asking to go inside and after I turned into a sweaty mess , they finally let me in … some staff acted grumpy that I came inside before 6pm .
The room is as far away as they could make it with no view and there are many empty rooms with sea views and … there’s no lift !! I’m on top floor , it’s humid and there’s no lift !!
This place charges like a 4 star but is no where near . 3 star is pushing it . Toilet is stained and corroded , shower is cheap and leaky , floor is dirty stained . Beds are hard and cheap . Wiring is loose and hangs from tv .see photos
Then at check out they failed to give my room an early morning call at 430 am to catch a flight … fortunately I realised that this service was probably beyond them and set my own alarm . The ride to the airport was on time and plesent
In summary my stay was quite disappointing and I do stay in really back water places in png a lot , they always seem to make the most of there natural beauty or simple decency and friendliness of the staff ….here that’s painfully lacking . It’s not a staff issue , it’s management.

Great Conference Facilities

Had a three day conference in Kokopo to arrange. The team at the Gazelle were responsive to the requirements. At the Conference everything was set up as requested and Dicky and his team did a great job over the course of the days. The lunches were very good and the participants were very happy with the venue.
