Leisure

Lovely property in historical buildings. Our room was bit small, but very clean and charming. Beautiful garden and small swimming pool / too cold for using in Mai /. Nice breakfast served to one large table for all the guests. Very helpful staff and memorable Douro Valley.

A good place to stay

Casa da Azenha is a ten-minute drive from Peso da Regua. The property is located along a quiet road surrounded by vineyards.
We were well received by Maria, who showed us around and told us a little about the history of the house.
It is a beautiful property, both the houses and the garden. Can imagine that the garden is a sight earlier in the season, when there is blooming.
Our room was clean and nice, the beds were good and firm and there was plenty of closet space. We had a great patio right outside the door.
Since we were there in October with cold mornings, breakfast was served indoors in a beautiful dining room.
Breakfast was simple and good, with round pieces, ham, cheese, several types of jam and freshly baked cake.
Casa da Azenha is an excellent location for exploring the Douro Valley, and several Quintaes are within walking distance.
Maria was very nice and helpful. She fixed and arranged for us, including wine tasting at Quinta de Bela (recommended!).

We felt welcomed

From our first greeting by Alzira and Diogo to our departing day breakfast we felt welcomed. Despite a language barrier, Alzira and Diogo gave us a warm introduction to the beautiful Casa and grounds and helped us get settled. Our room was cozy, comfortable and very clean.
The breakfasts were great, including a homemade cake by Diogo, and one by Alvira two days later, fresh fruit from the garden was always included.
On our first morning we met Maria, the manager who gave us a complete introduction and tour of the casa.She was warm, friendly, sincere and a wealth of information. We relied on her advice for visiting different areas as well as restaurants. We were never disappointed. Maria was our go to for anything we needed.
Simply put, we would definitely choose Casa da Azenha if we were to return to the Douro valley Regua area, we loved it.

Charming, quaint place off the beaten path

We were looking for a place to stay in the Douro Valley and found CA. Very charming with very nice and helpful staff. Maria checked us in and from there were well taken care of by the husband-wife team of Diogo and Alzira. Ginja (sp?), the little dachshund who patrols the grounds, was a cute touch. Great location to explore the Douro Valley. From here, we visited Lamego, Régua, and Pinhão. I would definitely return to this place.

Great and Cozy Place

We spent 4 great days in this house in August, with a lovely hostess Maria... who offers to help you in any way you need. The place is beautiful and the pool a place to relax. Fully recommended to know the Duoro area, we take a great memory of this trip. We went with our dog (Bale), who although we thought he would not make good friends with the dog of the house got along.
A place we'd go back to.
