Fantastic experience in a little corner of paradise!
But what makes this stay even more exceptional is the incredible welcome of the hostess and her husband. Hospitality like rarely found, sincere and warm. We felt like we were welcomed as family, and these moments of exchange made our time here even more special.
And the kitchen... what a marvel! Each meal was an explosion of flavors, prepared with care and infinite generosity. It was simply the best we have tasted in Sri Lanka, and I would give a lot to be able to eat it even today!

An enchanted break in the heart of nature
But what makes this place absolutely unique is the extraordinary hospitality of Aunty and her husband. The kindness and generosity of this lady is unparalleled. Every moment spent interacting with her was pure happiness.
And what about his kitchen? Absolutely divine, the best we have tasted in Sri Lanka. Unforgettable flavours, dishes prepared with love and exceptional craftsmanship. Even after we left, I miss his cooking... much, much, much.
If you are looking for a unique haven of peace, where humans and nature are in perfect harmony, then look no further. Habarana Farm Cottage is a nugget not to be missed.

A little piece of paradise - such a peaceful, beautiful setting. We will definitely be back one day, if we are lucky.
There are only two little lodges, so you are lucky if you are able to book one.
The rooms have a little veranda looking over the rice fields, coconut trees, peacocks, passion fruit and an abundance of other vegetatian.
Although quite basic (what do you expect for that price!!!) the rooms are spotlessly clean, , with extremely efficient air conditioning, very comfortable beds, a fan and spacious bathroom and lovely towels. There was even a welcome message made out of leaves on the bed. What more could you want??
The couple who run the working farm are adorable. If you ask.. they will cook you the best barbecue ever! The fish and chicken was phenomenal, and they cooked a huge variety of local vegetables - which pleased our vegetarian friend.
Breakfast comprised traditional Sri Lanka food, delicious tea and coffee and far more food than we could finish.
Most definitely the highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka so far.
