24 July in Morgantown, WV

After visiting Jumonville Glen, Braddock’s Grave, Fort Necessity, and the Don Knotts exhibit, it was time to settle in for the day. The Hilton Garden Suites served that purpose. Nice and clean room (513) although the ice machine on the floor was inoperable. We ate at the nearby Buffalo Wild Wings.

Great stay at Hilton Garden

Excellent hotel. Staff ( Zac at front desk) and sales manager ( Jolene?) are a pleasure to work with and handled all our needs. Besutufully renovated rooms and common areas. Nice pool and exercise room. This is one of the best hotels in Morgantown. It is also convenient to WVU and walkable to half a dozen restaurants. Keep up the good work!

Strange Man Entered My Room

On my first late evening there, a man (whom I did not know) keyed his way into my room. I was very scared and he left. I wanted to call the front desk, but the landline phone was dead (a.k.a. no dial tone) and was not working whatsoever.
So I walked down, and the man at the front desk mentioned that the man who entered my room was probably a construction worker hired by the hotel for renovations, that he was no threat, and that someone would fix my phone. That doesn't explain why he had a key to my room. If my room needed renovated, why was I allowed to rent it? What if I was in the shower? Why are construction workers given a key to my room? I find all of this very troubling.
Furthermore, by my last day, no one had ever come to look at my phone, and it still was not working whatsoever. What a poor experience. How can I realistically sleep comfortably knowing that people other than hotel staff have access to my room?

While understanding that they are renovating! Our bed was broke and box spring and mattress were just on the floor.
Ac was leaking and half of our floor was wet.
Poor parking and charge a pet fee for service animal

Hilton Garden Inn Morgantown

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The lobby is extremely welcoming and the room was very large, well equipped, and clean. The breakfast was very good for the price tag and there is plenty of sitting space. There is also a market place for 24/7 shopping in the lobby. The hotel is located next to a shopping center, so you can find anything from apparel shopping to food and groceries to a gas station minutes from the hotel. The room and the hallway were clean and had a fresh scent (keep it up!). The hotel was quiet despite the fact that there is construction on the top floor. Whatever minor gripes I had (e.g., faulty gym equipment and lack of very hot water) were offset by an extremely friendly and accommodating staff. I plan to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn during my next visit to Morgantown.
